Biblical Beliefs and Effectiveness in the Workplace This course is designed to explore the connection between our biblical beliefs and the skills needed to be effective in the workplace. It opens by showing that the teachings of scripture were not intended to be an end in themselves. They were given to enable us to become happier and more fulfilled in the various facets of our lives, including work. The doctrine of the Trinity teaches us the value of building relationships. In order to help us develop new relationships, the lesson provides a step-by-step guide for becoming a better conversationalist. Belief in the incarnation of Christ is the basis for becoming a more empathic listener. Steps to becoming a better listener are provided. Belief in Jesus’ crucifixion provides us with an understanding of our infinite value and frees us from the need to find our identity in work. The resurrection of the Savior teaches that the same divine power that brought Him forth from the grave is available to make us more resilient as we face life’s difficulties. Belief in Christ as Creator reminds us that because we are made in God’s image, we can be creative in our approach to life and problem-solving at work. The doctrine of the Sabbath teaches about the need for balance and boundaries in life and the importance of learning how to say “No.”
